I find myself in the enviable position to be living on the Sunshine Coast Hinterland in Australia, 30 minutes from some beautiful beaches and 15 minutes from some sensational waterfalls. I’m surrounded by earth’s beauty with heritage rainforests, hobby farms on grazing lands, rich soil for growing things, the most abundant and loud birdlife, and an enveloping sense of community for all that live here. We can still trace paddock to plate with plenty of quality fresh produce that has been grown chemical-free.
I go for 2 walks every day, morning and afternoon approximately 16,000 steps or 10km plus a swim throughout the day. I’m very disciplined in maintaining this level of activity. I’m exposed to the sun at good times of the day, I’m breathing in the fresh air, I’m clearing my head and receiving so much energy from the beautiful nature around me with the trees, the cows I pass, the birds, the other walkers with their dogs and the magnificent vista all around me. I can see the sea for most of the walk and so much rainforest and bushland in between.
Being an Entrepreneur, means you work to suit yourself with the things you are most passionate about. Being grateful and sharing the success with your community magnifies your abundance in so many different ways in life. I certainly have had my obstacles to overcome along the way, but we only get one life and I want to live it with passion, wonder, happiness, and love. I will be sharing more of myself and my story throughout my blogs over time.
For the past 30 years, I have worked in the corporate arena attaining some senior-level positions. I completed an MBA and have numerous other qualifications and certifications in both business and health. I am well-traveled and lived in several other countries including Kenya, Nepal, Thailand, the UK, the US, and China to name a few. This has given me the opportunity to live outside of the tourist pathway and live as the locals do. We are so diverse, and we can learn so much from each other if only we would be open-minded to try new approaches and techniques. I have been a student of life eternally learning and also have had the pleasure to train people for more than 20 years both overseas and in Australia.
I value wisdom, which is the quality of having experiences, combining knowledge, and demonstrating sound judgment. It is the integration of the lessons learned along our journey that gives us wisdom and helps to shape us as people. In 2020, my world changed when I contracted an auto-immune condition coupled with a psychological condition. For 18 months, I was in immense pain where I couldn’t even walk or get out of bed some days and I really struggled to heal. The medical fraternity sent me for many tests over 12 months whilst they tried to determine what I had. I was filled with drugs I didn’t want but needed, to reduce the pain so I could heal.
I felt I had a nuclear wasteland inside my body. Fast forward, I have now recovered to a level where I can do most things I did before. From not getting out of bed to now walking 16,000 steps a day, has been an enlightening experience where I gained such wisdom on how we need to take control of ourselves and our own healing. If any of this resonates with you, please get in touch if you feel I can assist you in some way.
